Healing the World

I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.
— Jesus Christ

Because God stepped into our world in order to live as one of us in the person of Jesus the Christ, we endeavor to step into new spaces in our community to make God’s love manifest in new ways. Christ said to us, “I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.”

We believe that God’s dream is to heal the world by sharing our joy and our experience of abundant life with others in real, tangible ways. A church on the move always has things happening, and we try not to be too tied down to one way of healing the world or the other—but we are always looking for ways to meet people where they are in order to bring them support, welcome, and comfort.

We are proud to have a community of people who meet needs as they arise, and the best way to get involved in this work is to join with us in listening to the needs of our neighbors.

Our greatest impact has always emerged from blessing and energizing the connections that happen naturally as a result of being in relationship with the community, such as our ongoing partnership with Washington UCC to support their back to school program for kids who face food and clothing insecurity, to our annual coat give-away that sees hundreds of coats given to local kids and families—for free, always—and this last year expanded into Oklahoma through a partnership with the American Indian Movement. We regularly have teams of people prepare and serve meals for people in a state of food insecurity, too.

Every coat given, every school uniform purchased, every meal prepared and served acts as an image of God renewing the world, and we are excited for every opportunity that comes our way—and the opportunities that you will create as you listen to the needs of our neighbors and bring them to our community, too!
