Who We Are

Come Journey With Us!

Each week for nearly 150 years, we have continued gathering at Pilgrim UCC for God to form us into a community that offers strength, comfort, and courage to those who walk the way with us. We experience the living God in worship and with one another. We believe Christ's presence in our lives can lead us to act and care boldly — to heal, forgive, tell the truth, come out, pray and sing, do the hard work of justice, to weep, laugh, and celebrate God's healing the world. We want that joy to reach out to all kinds of people and to invite them to walk alongside us on the journey towards God's future of peace.

This means we are committed to diversity because we want to look around our table and see God's dream of all peoples sitting down for a meal together in peace. This means that we value all kinds of families — and that we treasure all children. This also means that we are proudly "open and affirming," meaning we celebrate God's gifts and grace through people of all sexualities and gender identities. This means that we commit to include all people regardless of ability or disability and are striving to make our worship and our space more accessible to people with physical, mental, or sensory needs.

We pray God will empower us to be in ministry with others who are the most vulnerable and who are going through rough times. And, we believe Christ calls us to extend love, friendship, and hospitality to those outside our doors — throughout Bridgetown and throughout the whole world!

No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here!

We don't claim to have all the answers about who God is and what God has to say to the world. We believe that God is still speaking in our world today and we are learning to listen to God's voice together so that we can continue our pilgrimage into the future of peace and abundance that God is imagining for us. We trust that God is doing a new thing with us—and we want you to be a part of it!

Come and join us on this journey and see if we can be a home for you! Read through our website for more information, check out our Facebook page, give us a call, or join us for worship on Sundays at 10:30AM. Every stranger can find a friend here at God's table.
